Mohair

Mohair is light, airy and gives a soft, vibrant look to your knit. It can be used alone for a transparent and light result or as a follower thread to add fullness, structure and depth.

Mohair is not just mohair. That's why we have selected our mohair with great care and focus on comfort. Here you will find qualities that feel soft and comfortable - even for those who are normally sensitive to mohair. The yarn should be a pleasure to work with and to wear.

The selection at Broen Garn includes mohair in various blends - so you can adapt both expression and comfort to your project.

Mohair comes from the Angora goat and is known for its long, fine fibers. Yarns with mohair often have a characteristic lightness and a soft halo, which gives the knitwear an airy and lively look.

Mohair is used both alone and as a follower thread. As a single thread it can create light, almost transparent qualities. Together with other yarns it adds fullness, softness and a slightly brushed surface.

The quality depends on the fineness of the fibers – super kid mohair in particular is known to be softer and more comfortable against the skin. Mohair insulates well for its weight and is often used in both light and warmer projects.
